SYMBOL: The Goat – Capricornus is the name of Capricorn’s constellation which is Latin for “Goat horn” or “Horned goat”. Much like the goat that leaps to intimidating heights of a mountain side, Capricorns have lofty ambitions and will go to great heights to achieve their goals. Capricorn is represented by the symbol of the sea goat (a mythical creature which is half goat, half fish). This symbol serves as a metaphor for obstacles that Capricorns often face in their climb to success. It’s certainly not as easy to scale a mountain with a fish tail, but their great strategizing skills will prove that they can!

PLANETS: The planetary ruler of Capricorn is Saturn; the planet of restriction, limitation, discipline and hard work.

Capricorns are known for their ambition, leadership and dedication to their goals. A Capricorn will always have something they’re working toward whether it’s a higher position in their job, a bigger home, or public status. They are some of the most determined people and will stop at nothing to get what they want. They’re no stranger to responsibility and they generally take their work fairly seriously.  

Capricorns are generally reserved and contained people who exercise self control and patience in getting what they want. They strategize and plan their path which makes them look dignified in the pursuit of their goals. You will rarely ever see a Capricorn looking sloppy or like their life is falling apart. Celebrity Capricorns and their compatibility!

Bradley Cooper

Bradley Cooper is a great example of Capricorn persistence, ambition and achievement; especially with his latest project, “A Star is Born” that he directed, produced, and starred in! That’s a Capricorn’s work ethic right there! Many were impressed by Cooper’s onscreen chemistry with Lady Gaga so we’ll have a look at their astrological compatibility. Even though the two aren’t involved romantically, they have some interesting placements between their charts. Both of their moons are positively aspected, so emotionally the two feel comfortable with one another. Cooper’s Pluto opposes Gaga’s Sun in Aries, which indicates that its likely Gaga felt an intense and powerful attraction to Cooper. So why didn’t these two end up together romantically? Generally Aries and Capricorns are the two least compatible signs for each other. Lady Gaga is an Aries sun which may have been a little too impulsive and young at heart for Cooper’s more mature and sensible Capricorn sun, though it’s likely that Gaga felt mentored and guided by Cooper’s experience and expertise for her first acting debut.

She seems to handle the demands of royalty as if she were born for it, which is no surprise for a Capricorn. Her relationship with husband, Prince William, at first glance seems incompatible with his Cancer sun being the opposite sign of her Capricorn sun, however both of their moons and north nodes of fate and purpose are also in Cancer; the sign of home, family and nurturing. These two are emotionally on the same page in regards to home life, family and service to the public.

Michelle Obama

Is anyone really surprised that Michelle Obama is a Capricorn? Probably not! Much like Kate Middleton, she exudes an air grace and regality. Her relationship with husband, former President Barrack Obama, is highly compatible. He is a Leo sun, which within itself is a confident sign who is able to be supportive of an independent Capricorn woman instead of threatened by one. Michelle’s Capricorn sun makes harmonious aspects to Barrack’s moon and Mars, indicating that Michelle’s personality really makes him feel passionate toward her and yet at home and comfortable at the same time.  His Pluto (the planet of power and transformation) opposes her moon and Venus so it’s likely that she feels an intense amount of love for him, as well as the possibility that their relationship was very transforming and even healing for Michelle.
